My first recipe

Last night I really wanted a grilled cheese and some sweet potato fries. I know I could always order them and pick them at a restaurant but I decided to make my own fries. Here is how that went.

I preheated the oven to 450. And then I washed up this bad boy right here:

2013-10-17 18.06.39Make sure you have a good knife. Cutting up sweet potatoes is a real pain in the butt.

Then mix with 1/4 egg whites and spices of your choice. I used garlic powder and chili powder. I’m sure you could add cinnamon if you wanted, but I’m allergic.

2013-10-17 18.12.09And place on cookie sheet with plenty of cooking spray. I didn’t have a cookie sheet (I think I thew ours away when we moved from the apartment to the house) so I used a regular baking pan and put foil down. And sprayed that with cooking spray.

I then cooked them for 30 minutes. They probably could have gone in there a little bit longer, but I was really hungry.

I would totally make this again and I will. I loved how much better they tasted then going out. Or even buying them from a bag. And the grilled cheese was fantastic, too. I didn’t bother to show you how I made that because I figured everyone already knows.

I’ve been slacking in the workout/running department. My eating has been pretty horrible this week, too. But, I’m planning on changing that tomorrow. Baby steps.
