My coworker had her baby this morning. We’re all pretty excited and have been on baby watch since she was put on maternity leave last month. She wasn’t due until January 20th but she has some pretty bad swelling in her legs and feet so her doctor ordered her on bed rest. I can’t wait to meet the little guy. He’s adorable from the pictures I’ve seen.
I made it to the gym this morning. It’s the first time I’ve been back since December 23rd. I’ve worked out at home of course, but haven’t been to the gym in a bit. It wasn’t as busy as I thought it would be being and January and all but it was busier then usual. New treadmills are scheduled to arrive soon which is exciting. I just did cardio today and picked up a some coffee and a couple donuts (for the hubby) on the way home.
I’ll have cooked dinner two nights in a row after tonight which is a big deal. I haven’t really felt like cooking lately. I made a pot roast last night and tonight we’re having meatloaf. Tomorrow we’re going to have chili. Part of my weight gain comes from my lack of cooking so if I can just cook more and exercise and not eat out so much I should be okay. Easier said then done of course.
It’s been a pretty unproductive weekend. I had big plans but it just didn’t turn out the way I had wanted. It poured rained for most of yesterday and I didn’t want to go out in that at all. And today I’ve just kind of been lazy after my workout. It’s good to relax and enjoy the weekend, but I have stuff that really needs to get done. I did do some cleaning around the house, but I had wanted to run a few errands. I guess there is always next weekend.
And I really wanted a little Fro Yo. Always Fro Yo.
I’m procrastinating. I need to do a little cleaning around the house and I’m sitting here enjoying another cup of coffee instead. There really is nothing wrong with that. But, my house could use a good scrubbing.
I haven’t been as awesome as I wanted to be with my workout goals for 2014. I want to be, but sometimes I’m so
lazy tired in the morning. I did workout this morning though and that felt good. If I could just remember how great it feels when I’m running I might be able to do it more. I did manage to lose a pound this week. I’m not sure how.
I would love to be like Elizabeth and go scale free for a year. How amazing would that be??
We had some wicked cold weather here this week. One more I got up and it was -2 degrees outside. That’s right. Minus two. And today it’s raining and in the 50’s. I have no idea what is going on right now.
I gave my cold to m husband. I knew it was going to happen. Isn’t that the way of the sickness?
Work was pretty crazy all work. Things happened. Things went down. And life goes on.
Even in the freezing cold temperatures I stopped to get frozen yogurt on the way home from work one night. It’s that good. Cake batter with sprinkles, strawberries and gummy bears. Don’t knock it until you try it. It’s my new go to favorite.
The Golden Globes are on tomorrow night. Will you be watching? I will be.
I wanted to get up early and go to the gym this morning, But, it’s just so darn cold right now. I didn’t want to actually have to warm up my car and drive anywhere. So, I just decided to hit up the treadmill at home. I’m so happy that I don’t have to go outside in a FREEZING garage like I did when we were in the apartment. One of the (many) perks of owning your own home. Some of those mornings were pretty brutal and I’m pretty sure that I caught bronchitis once (or twice) from breathing in that cold air for a few hours.
We had our new sectional sofa delivered today. It’s beautiful. It works perfectly in our living room. I promise to get a picture up of it soon. My sister wants the old couch we had so right now we have two sofas in the living room which is making it a little tight. Hopefully it will be gone in a few days.
I was promised some FroYo today. I’m still waiting for this to happen. And yes, I didn’t forget that I was just complaining about going out into the cold in the morning to hit the gym. But, FroYo is so worth it. I’m going to try something different today. I’ve had candy cane the last couple of times, but I think I want to try cake batter today.
I’m about 95% over my cold. Now if these massive pimples on my face would clear up. I have no idea where they came from.

What? I know we’re already 4 days into 2014. But I really have a good excuse for not blogging sooner. I’ve been sick.
Something hit me like a brick. It started on Monday night (the 30th) and by New Years Eve I was a complete mess. We ordered pizza and watched a movie (I know, such party animals) but I just wasn’t feeling it. The highlight of the evening was when a friend of the hubby’s stopped over to pick up his laptop and I got to play with his son. Such a cutie (the cats were not amused). I spent the first day of 2014 on the couch sleeping off and on with the cats. Not the way I had planned on starting out the new year, but there wasn’t much I could do about it.
I dragged myself into work on Thursday because I had so much to get done. With being off the week before and it being the end of the month/year billing, I needed to make sure I got everything in on time. I was just so miserable. I know I’m sick when I don’t want coffee. I drank a lot of tea over the past few days.
I stayed home yesterday to try and get better. I’m happy to say that by around 4pm I started to feel like myself again and today I was finally about to get in my first workout of 2014. Again, not the way I had planned on starting off January, but I couldn’t do much about that.
I managed some cardio at home on the treadmill (I wasn’t going outside. It’s like 5 degrees right now) but tomorrow I plan on making it to the gym. I promised myself 2014 would be better and I want to include gym time in there.
